Hundreds of years of exposure to the sea bed environment has shaped the original old oak beams and timbers into what they are today. It would be technically impossible to create these weird and some might say wonderful shapes any other way! Here are just a couple of pieces that have no archaeological significance and are therefore not required by our National Heritage. These are exactly the types of timbers that I normally cut into smaller sections and sell and pen sets etc. However, when I used to take these along to my talks and presentations, I often had people wanting to purchase odd shaped pieces of timber that had simply been removed from the wreck and had no other treatment work carried out on them.

For these larger timbers the price quoted does not include postage.

A section of oak taken from the wreck. The amount of worm degradation indictaes that this piece has been exposed to the elements for a considerable length of time. No treatment on this bit, just exactly as it was recovered from the wreck. There are iron staiun marks where it orgiginally had iron fastenings through the timber.

Another section of oak taken from the wreck. The amount of worm degradation indictaes that this piece also has been exposed to the elements for a considerable length of time. No treatment on this bit, just exactly as it was recovered from the wreck. I personally like this piece because it has the shape of a dragon and stands up unsupported on a naturally flat underside.
